Audio Visual Equipped Classroom (AVEC)

Welcome to the resource space for AVECs. The term AVEC stands for Audio Visual Equipped Classrooms and it was coined to separate classifications from rooms that had SMART equipment. Now, as classroom technology has become more sophisticated, AVEC is a reflection of various types of technology that includes SMART devices.

Our most sophisticated classrooms include:

  • Wireless connectivity for computer devices

  • High definition connections

  • Blu-ray disc players

  • High definition document cameras

  • Lecture capture capability

  • wireless control of system

As you learn to use these technologies, you will experience opportunities to enhance pedagogy and create a more fulfilling experience for students.

AV Technology in our classrooms has gotten increasingly complex over the years. New features are being introduced with every iteration. With new technology, we frequently encounter new challenges. The entire Information Technology department hopes to bring you timely and satisfying resolutions to these issues. North Park Students, Faculty, and Staff can assist IT by being detailed and specific with issues that arise. Thank you, in advance, for working with us as we continue to integrate new technologies into our campus life and learning.

This section of our Knowledge Base is dedicated to AVEC resources located on campus. Please familiarize yourself with this content if you plan on using an AVEC classroom. We are happy to provide training and answer any questions you may have!

Your feedback is very important. Please let us know of any issues, suggestions, concerns you have by creating a JIRA Helpdesk ticket, or calling IT at (773)244-5540 (x5540 on campus).
